A collaborative initiative
between the Board, the Office of the Victim Advocate, and the Coalition
Against Domestic Violence produced a Domestic Violence Protocol
for the supervision of offenders with histories of domestic violence.
This protocol establishes that the Board recognizes that supervision goals
include not only protection of the public and the victim but also a reaffirmation
of the legislative intent to criminalize domestic violence, which includes
the accountability of the offender and subsequent safe reintegration into
the community. The protocol provides agency staff with a consistent approach
for supervising domestic violence offenders in order to reduce the incidence
of domestic violence and enhance public safety.
